B3 Bikes is a busy full-service bike shop located in Howell, NJ. We are seeking someone with good mechanical and electrical aptitude, also familiar with the basics of bicycle mechanics, to assist in our service department.
We are willing to train a qualified candidate with those skills to diagnose and repair electric bicycles, electric scooters, and similar devices. The job will also include assisting with basic regular bicycle maintenance from time to time, such a installing bike racks, kickstands, changing flats, and similar tasks.
- Someone with a strong interest in bicycles is preferred.
- Previous experience working on bikes in a professional capacity is a huge plus and could improve the scope of the job duties described above (this does not mean working on your and your friends' BMX bikes when you were a kid).
- Must have your own reliable transportation and live within a reasonable driving distance of our shop in Howell, NJ.
- Must be able to work a minimum of 5 days per week. We are always closed on Saturday. Willingness to work on Sundays is a huge plus.
- Must be presentable, as well as willing and able to interact with customers in a friendly manner while explaining their bike's ailments in a way that the customer will understand.
- Ability to work carefully and efficiently within a fast paced environment.
- Ability to put away your phone while at work, taking it out only when needed to help diagnose or photograph an issue on a bike repair.
- The job is currently seasonal (spring through fall), but we are open to making it full time if things go well.
