Nice little vintage Barcus Berry amplifier.
Not a tone monster, but sounds good enough and great for practice or small spaces.
Original speaker changes to Line 6 Spyder II 8" ceramic.
The Barcus-Berry XL 8 is a small solid-state amp with high- and low-gain inputs, drive, preamp, and master volume controls, and treble, midrange, and bass. 8" speaker. From 1978.
This amp has both high and low impedance inputs on the front. This is a great little amp to use with acoustic instruments with pickups built in. Guitar, Mandolin, Violin etc. It has 2 stages of preamp and a master volume knob. Also the Bass, Middle and Treble EQ knobs provide a great deal of cut or boost of the frequencies you want or don't want. It is 30 watts of power into a single 8" speaker. You can also disconnect the speaker and use another or use the speaker with another amp! Line out 1/4" jack on the back as well. And the unit is fused.
Compact and easy to carry.
