Boat was built in 1949 in St. Lawrence, Quebec, commissioned by a prince to race the 1950 Newport/ Bermuda race. Cutter rigged centerboard sloop 40’ on deck 46’ with bowsprit. Carvel planked, 1” Alaskan white cedar on white oak frames, 9” on center. 21/2” mahogany cabin sides and coamings.
9’4” beam, draft 4’10”/ 8’ with board down. Steel floors and centerboard case. Hasn’t been sailed since 2020. 36 hp Yanmar diesel out for rebuild. 50’ deck stepped mast replaced in 2012, sails purchased in 2019 from Vermont Sailing Partners, 9 1/2oz Dacron for both main with a 48’ luff and 18’ foot and 37’ luff staysail. Only sailed 5 times before Covid…Needs work inside and out, however is very solid and built to go fast. Pictures are from launching in 2019. Boat is located at deRouville’s Marina in Ocean Gate, NJ.
